So I indeed got tarted up a bajillion and went out to the club. I thought we were going karaoke, but NO!, we hit Big Easy. It isn't my favorite place. I'm not a huge dancer, mostly because I feel stupid when I do it, and I don't really like the music. And also, the drinks are seriously overpriced. $5.50 for a watermelon jolly rancher? Boo. Anyway, so I babysat the purses and coats and held the fort, making sure no Big Easy Sleazies took over the place.
I did dance once though, I was relatively buzzed and Sir Mix-a-lot's I Like Big Butts came on, the dance floor was flooded and everyone rapped the words along to his Royal Assfullness. It was fun, but after that, I went back to my perch at Wallflower Station. My only problem with this is that Shira, my hetero-lovie, is not yet 21, so I didn't really see her all night, even though she was nice enough to give me a ride. But perhaps we can get together and shoot the shit later today.
So I just reread this blog and I sound like a gianty ass whiner face. I want to make it clear that I had a fabulous time. People were always at the table with me, I was hardly ever alone, and I got to see a lot of my Spawkwing Diamonds all evening. It was like a one act play. I was the cnetral character and the moment someone would leave the scene, someone else made their entrance. Sometimes, the people that would leave were looking for the people that showed up just after they left. It was stage genius. I think I'll write a one act play.
So, after, we tried to find a Shari's on Monroe, failed and decided to go to Denny's, which was only serving salads and desserts, so we ended up at Zip's. We ate quickly and got home just before Katie lost her ability to walk, and I poured myself into bed, where I cuddled with my Now Neutered Oskar until sleep.
Overall, it was a fun evening, and I'm hoping maybe a repeat performance is coming in the near future. But this time, I want Karaoke. I want Martini Bar. I want Pool Hall. I don't care. I just don't want the Big Easy anymore.
And look out for the new hit play by Jennifer Klouse, Wallflowers At Midnight, coming soon to a crap dinner theater near you!
